Northeast Yangge is a form of folk song and dance that the Northeast people love very much. Yang Bin wrote to Liubian Jilue in Ninggu Pagoda (now Ning'an County, Heilongjiang Province) in the 30th year of Kangxi (AD 1691). The Yangge activities have been recorded: "Shang Yuanye, good deeds pretend to be Yangge." He also said: "Yangge, with boys to play three or four women, and three or four people to play in the army, each holding a rule of two logs, slamming Relatively dancing, while pretending to be an umbrella peddler (umbrella lamp) anointing seller, the gongs and drums are used to dance with it, dancing is a song, singing a song is a dance, and it is only a day.

Northeast Yangge is divided into two types: ground bungee and stilt. Ground bungee, also known as ground yangge, has a wide spread; stilts are popular in southern Liaoning, especially in Yingkou (Dashiqiao), Haicheng and Gaixian. It is said that a farmer in a certain paddy field sings a field song when transplanting rice, called Yangge.
